Juan Carlos Hernandez An amazing photographer. Most of the pictures of my band on the home page were taken by him during a live performance at Smalls jazz club.
Smalls This is a wonderful jazz club in NYC where my Nonet plays often. Their schedule is full of consistently high-quality music and up-and-coming jazz musicians.
Todd Sickafoose One of my favorite bass players. I'm lucky enough to play in his Blood Orange group.
Charlie Hunter I mind-blowing eight-string guitarist. I used to play in his quintet...and loved every minute of it.
Dan Pratt Dan is a Brooklyn-based tenor player who writes great original music for his organ quartet, of which I'm a member.
Otis Brown III Otis is an amazing drummer who subs in my nonet and plays regularly with Joe Lovano's nonet. We love to sit around and reference old Dave Weckl tunes.
JC Sanford JC is a fellow Brooklyn-based trombonist and composer. I play in his fantastic big band that he co-leads with David Schumacher, named the Schumacher/Sanford Sound Assembly.
Darcy James Argue Darcy is an excellent composer who's ensemble, Secret Society, I play trombone with.
Akiko Pavolka Akiko sings beautifully on my first nonet record, 'Scenes From An Exit Row.' Do yourself a favor and go hear her band, 'House of Illusion.'
Jody Redhage Jody plays cello in my nonet + strings project. She has an incredible new CD out called "All Summer In A Day" (New Amsterdam) where she sings newly commissioned pieces for her voice and cello.
Zach Brock Zach plays violin in my nonet + strings project. He has a great band called the Coffee Acheivers which tours regularly and is getting lots of attention.
Take Toriyama The late Take Toriyama was a beautiful person and a brilliant drummer. I feel very lucky to have played with him in many contexts, from trio to big band.
